The UV (ultra violet) lamp kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses found in drinking water. The result is healthier, crisp, clean water. Chlorine may be present in water to protect it and once this has been removed, as our filters do 99.9% of chorine removal, the water is open to contamination. The UV lamp protects the water and ensures no contamination can take place.
We hold numerous quality assurance standards including the Water Quality Association (WQA) Gold Seal for drinking water standards, The British WRAS Standard, the European Union Standard (CE), the Service Quality Standard (ISO 9000), and the ROHS Environmental Quality Standard.

YES! People can get very sick. Children and elderly people are the most susceptible to illness from bacteria and viruses.
Tami water purifiers are connected to the water mains and undergoes a triple-filtration and UV sterilization process to dispense healthy, great tasting, chilled water. The essential minerals stay in the water and any bad tasting chlorine which may be in the water is reduced by 99.99%. .Mineral water is water pumped directly from water sources, bottled in plastic bottles and transported via various hubs to the retailer.
All drinking water, including tap water and water that is referred to as “mineral water” contains the same minerals, varying in composition and concentration depending on the environment they come from. Tap water has chlorine added to protect it on its route to your tap and this can cause taste and odour concerns. The Micro and Primo triple purification process removes the chlorine from the water.
This technology is safe to use and all of our water purifiers are tested and comply with strict safety standards. The UV system is placed in a enclosed sleeve and at no point in time will come in physical contact with the water.
Ultraviolet disinfection disinfects the water without adding any addtional chemical which can be harmful to your body and does not alter any chemical composition of the water, it is estimated that ultraviolet disinfection is 20,000 times more effective than boiling.
Chlorine changes the taste and odour of the water and can form chlorinated by-products such as Trihalomethanes (THM’s) which might be harmful to the body. Unlike chlorine, UV disinfection is a natural, non-chemical process.
The water passes through a three stage filtration and then a UV purification process. A sediment filter removes larger particles, a tiny 2 micron filter eliminates impurities such as rust, dirt and sand and a charcoal filter reduces up to 99% of bitter tasting chlorine and filters organic substances which can leave odour and after tastes. The UV purification process uses a UV lamp to kills 99.9% of bacteria and viruses. By using light instead of chemicals, such as chlorine, your water stays tasting great.
The elimination of chlorine and other organic substances are efficiently executed by the active charcoal. The accurate combination of different sized particles will enable absorption of a wide range of contaminators. This process is significant for water purification systems and water filtration systems, and an important component of our water purifiers.
From the moment the filter is installed, germs and particles will accumulate on it as they are taken out of your water. The replacement of the filter on time will ensure ongoing water quality and great tasting water. The charcoal loses its ability to filter properly after a period of 6 months.

Our technician will be happy to advise on the best location when he visits to do your installation and you can even try a few counter top positions before settling on what’s best for you. Pipe Trunking if desired will also incur additional charges.

Installation is done by one of our own trained technicians. The purifier is connected via a 8mm flexible tube that is fed into your mains supply, normally under the sink. The tube is then brought under the cupboards and connected at the back of the unit. The tube gets to the back via a small 10mm hole (the size of a pencil) in the work surface. We install the units using our own technicians as we like to ensure the purifier is installed to the mains supply correctly and this also enables us to take you through the machine and personalise your settings. This also ensures the warranty of the appliance and protects you in the unlikely event that your appliance may have a fault. The installation does not require extra space or any preliminary preparations.
Installation requirements: within 2 metres of an electrical socket and within 3 metres of the mains water supply. Any additional distance is chargeable per metre run.
